Logos

Kaneshiro Bakery is a fictional bakery for a short film by Angela Chen titled "Mr. Cupcakes." MR. CUPCAKES is a stylish and unique comedy with a serious heart. David is a famous baker; his only problem is that he hasn't baked anything in his whole life. Would he be able to stand against everyone at the ultimate Bakeoff, in order to save the person he loves? Mr. Cupcakes uses the point of view of an all American 'hero' to explore the different layers of the dysfunctional relationship of an Asian father and his 'useless' Asian- American daughter.

Other Flyers

TASA's Charity Poker Tournament was an event to raise money for SAHELI, which is a non-profit organization providing assistance to Asian women seeking help in dealing with domestic violence and abuse.

VSA Date Auction

One of the Vietnamese Students Association's (VSA) biggest events of the year is the Charity Date Auction. This year, the theme is Down the Rabbit Hole, in reference to Alice in Wonderland.

Last year, the theme was Jack the Ripper. VSA's Charity Date Auction is an annual event that invites different student organizations to send a representative to be auctioned off. All proceeds go to charity.

Night Market

Night Market is the Taiwanese American Students Association's (TASA) flagship event, bringing out well over 1,000 people. The 2010-2011 school year was the 8th Annual Night Market hosted at the Main Mall. They provide free catered food (fried rice, lo mien, and egg rolls), fresh made food (shaved ice and green onion pancakes), a mochi eating contest, games, cultural performances, and free prizes!

TASA invites different student organizations to provide a table at the event to host their own game. They also invite other organizations to send a performer if interested. These performances range from singing, Chinese yo-yo, wushu, lion dance, chinese traditional fan dance, modern dance, etc...

After Night Market, TASA hosts a club party. This year, it was hosted at ACES Lounge, a popular night club in the middle of Austin's 6th Street. The theme was Type-A, which can be interpreted in different ways. It can be interpreted as a blood type, personality type, etc... but the main reason for the theme was a play on words. Type A, if said correctly, sounds like Taipei - Taiwan's capital city.
